Quality Indicators – ESGO Gynae-Oncology Guidelines

Quality Indicators for Surgical treatment of Cervical Cancer

Chaired by Prof. David Cibula (Czech Republic), this project aimed at developing clinically relevant and evidence-based criteria for the quality assessment of cervical cancer surgery throughout Europe.

The main goal is to improve the quality of surgery for advanced cervical cancer and to build a network of European institutions, which meet the standards of proper cervical cancer surgery and can then be awarded an ESGO recognition for cervical cancer surgery.

Cervical Cancer Quality Indicators were developed using a four-step evaluation process that included a systematic literature search to identify potential quality indicators, in-person meetings of an ad hoc group of 16 international expert surgeons, an internal validation process and external review by a  panel of 93 European clinicians and 3 patient representatives.
