The European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) Guidelines, Recommendations, quality indicators and Algorithms are based on a systematic comprehensive literature review of the most recent studies available (up to their publication date), and critical appraisal by experts within a multidisciplinary international development group.

The guidelines and algorithms are thus supported by scientific evidence and/or by a large consensus among expert.

Prior to publication, the guidelines are reviewed by an independent multidisciplinary panel (international review).

The ESGO algorithms gynae-cancers app, based on the full clinical practice guidelines, are intended to help clinicians make informed decisions about their patients. However, adherence to a guideline does not guarantee a successful outcome. Ultimately, healthcare professionals must make their own treatment decisions about care on a case-by-case basis, after consultation with their patients, using their clinical judgement, knowledge and expertise. A guideline is not intended to take the place of physician judgment in diagnosing and treatment of particular patients.

The ESGO Algorithms App and clinical Guidelines may not be complete or accurate. The ESGO officers, Guidelines committee, international expert panel, reviewers, and members of their boards, consultants, software provider and employees disclaim all liability for the accuracy or completeness of a guideline or recommendation, and disclaim all warranties, express or implied to their incorrect use.

The algorithms app and Guidelines users always are urged to seek out newer information that might impact the diagnostic and treatment recommendations contained within the app or guidelines.
